but it will be worth it.
I did a variation of this exercise from my ‘muscle&fitness HERS’ book, and it is literally the best abs exercise i’ve done, my abs were swollen and hard without tensing. I didn’t hold weights, i started with my knees bent, shins parallel and arms straight up above me, then slowly lowered legs and arms to a pseudo-boat pose, the trick was to keep your back flat to the floor, bending loses all the strength in the core, so the only way to do this is to tense your abs as much as possible. Don’t rush, keep good posture. I think the reason this worked so well was because you cannot rely on legs or throwing your head forward like with a crunch or situp. Great exercise, quick results!
