So ready...
…for my rest day. Did 40 minutes of steady cardio on the stationary bike after my lunch time lower plyometrics. I was already feeling beat up this morning but am proud to push through realistically.  Doing 1800 calories the next 3 days to get out of this plateau.

Soreness.
Today I’m feeling so sore from running Sunday and yesterday for the first time in a while.  Heel feeling decent but my shin muscles and legs feel ridiculous. I’ll be doing the bike tonight for my cardio and taking advantage of my rest day tomorrow. My body feels broken down.

Debating Workout
I’m going to use my lunch break today to finish half of my workout for the day so I have more of an evening left, and since today is my hardest and longest workout for the week.  Now I’m debating which part to do: lower body plyometrics or steady state cardio 35-45 mins? Plyometrics are so tough that it’d be nice to get them done and then just need to do some steady cardio...

Still no water.
As you may remember from my Our Gym Sucks post, just thought I’d update you that we still have no working water fountain in our gym and I think that is absolutely ABSURD. They are not giving out water either. I can barely bring enough water for my workouts, and have to bring even more if I’m going somewhere directly afterwards. Besides the equipment this is the most basic thing a...

Weekend
My cheat meal was bigger than I wanted it to be, but I ate well for the rest of the weekend. Also had a salad when we went out to dinner and then indulged in a shared small piece of chocolate cake (outside of said cheat meal)… I think after last week’s 1400 calorie days I felt more deprived and had a harder time with 2 slices of pizza satisfying me. Ended up eating a total of 4 slices...

Meal plan lessons
Tried a new nutrition plan from M&F hers for losing fat. I struggled with 1,600 calories before, and this one was 1,400 but had most of the carbs early in the day and tapered off. I was skeptical since I work out later in the day and need the fuel but I’m still trying to learn what works best for me. I also haven’t lost a lb in two weeks now and have been eating well and workout...

Beach trip ...
Though I haven’t officially booked the hotel yet (we have to soon because it’s a huge event that books fast), I just took off work today for one of our favorite trips every year! Ocean City, Maryland muscle car cruise.  I have a lot to work on to upgrade my Chevelle transmission this winter/spring yet, and to book the room but it’s still exciting. It’s always the third...

Our gym sucks.
Always broken equipment, AC (during July of course), water fountain, always something. Tonight is the water fountain again. Recently they took out the paper towel machines in the bathroom to save money with an air hand dryer, so there is now nothing to wipe down sweat with in the locker room. Every visit (which is almost very day), at least one of the paper towel machines in the gym area runs...

The Spartan Warrior: Challenges →
thespartanwarrior: In each challenge is great opportunity. So step forward, meet the challenge, work persistently through it, and make the opportunity yours. It’s difficult, complicated, inconvenient, and demanding. And you are wonderfully able to deal with all that, to create a valuable outcome. There are plenty…

Bodyrock / Snow day
I’m eating great today and worked out already. But damn, I hate working out early in the day. Not something I normally do and I struggled so much more trying to push myself than normal. It must be something with my nutrition because I just feel way less energy until the evening, but for tonight’s celebration with the family I had to get it in early. It was something different for once...

welp
We got to our destination, after my hubby stopped for his Long John Silver’s and we drove home with it, and Nan & Pap had pizza just made.  I wasn’t here for 10 minutes until I had a slice. But, I will now keep it clean for the rest of the weekend, minus maybe a small indulgent to add up to a cheat meal for the week. Still, disappointed I didn’t wait til Sunday which was my...

I can feel...
That I’m on the brink of losing another 1-2 lbs…. I’m going to eat clean as possible this weekend and chow down on my cheat meal either Saturday or Sunday (playing by ear since we’re visiting and I’m sure pizza or chinese will come up at some point).  Been doing much better this week keeping around my calorie intake because I know what works for me. I also think that...

It gets easier
I just wanted to encourage anyone who’s starting out or struggling that although your workouts should always get more challenging, and eating healthy can be tempting to stray from for the rest of your life, it does get easier.  It gets easier to make better choices as you see and/or feel differently about your body. You realize how much more progress you make on your goals with better...

This weekend
We’re visiting my grandparents-in-law this weekend for their 60th wedding anniversary. How amazing is that? They are the sweetest people I know and we’re so blessed to have them in our lives. I’m really excited just to have a full day of coffee and chatting with Nan, and then have a dinner with the whole family for their celebration.  That said, I’m already writing down...

Proof
You know how I know I’m making progress for long term? Because there is still pizza in the fridge from my cheat meal on Sunday. That is a legit miracle.

10 lb mark!
Finally lost the 10th lb since I finally committed 100% in November. Definitely losing body fat and gaining some muscle definition. 7 more lbs of fat to lose until my goal (130), but at that point I’ll be gauging how I look and will continue to weight train.  When I laid out my training goals for the year, I set up Jan-Feb to keep leaning, and March to build some muscle and then get back to...
